Fat Freddy’s Drop perform an outdoor concert to a packed audience.

Fat Freddy’s Drop returns to Wellington to entertain a hometown crowd. The show at Upper Hutt’s Brewtown will celebrate the release of their new album ‘SLO MO’. It will be the band’s first headline show in the country since 2020. Supporting Fat Freddy’s will be The Teskey Brothers, Coterie, and Rubi Du.

Fat Freddy's Drop members pose for a picture with the cheering audience during a concert.

Freddy’s musical style has been described as a combination of dub, reggae, soul, jazz, rhythm and blues, and techno. Fresh off the back of a 37-show tour of Europe, the boys will be match-fit and ready to play a new set list of fresh hits. “SLO MO is the strongest studio representation yet of a Freddy’s live show”, says saxophonist Chopper Reeds. “Usually, we take the stage to the studio and this time, we’re excited about taking our studio creation onto the stage.”

All tickets include access to public transportation to Upper Hutt. Have your ticket on hand to gain access to public transport services on the day.

Take the swagger of Jamaican dub, throw in a little Memphis soul and send it halfway down the globe, and what comes back? The band Fat Freddy’s Drop.
