Ismo – Woo Hoo! World Tour

Comic Ismo Leikola is a keen observer of cultural differences. Being Finnish but living in the United States gives him a unique insight into the world. He uses this ‘outsider's point of view’ to find humour in ordinary things. His show, Ismo – Woo Hoo!, will bring these observations to The Opera House in Wellington. Ismo’s love of wordplay and absurdity in everyday things has earned him a huge following around the world. British comedy website, Chortle, says Ismo is capable of “bringing the house down with his daft ‘foreigner abroad’ shtick. He’s got an entertaining off-kilter mind and a gift for comic misunderstanding”. 

Ismo’s comedy career began in Finland in 2002. In 2014 he won ‘The Funniest Person in the World’ competition hosted by the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. From there, his fame grew with appearances on late-night television and sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He’s been touring ever since.
