The Holiday — In Concert with Live Orchestra

This Christmas, experience a classic rom-com in style. Festive film ‘The Holiday’ came out in 2006 and quickly became a favourite with the public. Now, you can see the movie on the big screen again. The Michael Fowler Centre transforms into a cinema while below the screen, Orchestra Wellington plays the soundtrack live. 

The Universal Pictures production stars Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black. It tells the story of how two women meet online at a home exchange website and impulsively switch homes for the holiday. The transatlantic swap leaves one woman in sunny California and the other in the snowy English countryside. Both women find the last thing they want or expect — a new romance. 

Orchestra Wellington plays Hans Zimmer’s legendary score. The world-renowned film composer has won multiple Academy Awards and Golden Globes. The live music aspect plus cinema-sized screen makes for a unique way to experience a beloved holiday classic.
