Rathkeale College

Rathkeale College is a small sized Anglican secondary school, set in 66 hectares of grounds and gardens with three on site boarding houses. The College has a long tradition of housing international students. Those who choose to take part in the ESOL programme which delivers a curriculum specifically for these students, allows them to achieve the English qualifications required to attend University in New Zealand, Australia or elsewhere. For a small school, it competes and achieves consistently well on the regional and national stage in Academia, Sport and the Performing Arts.

Facilities include impressive playing fields and the Land Lab – a 6 hectare production, research and teaching facility for the primary industries. Also on-site is a swimming pool, gymnasium and weights room, cutting edge digital facilities for music and art design, a squash court, library and computer suites. Sport and cultural activities play a major part in Rathkeale’s curriculum. Students participate in music and sports all year round, and full boarders also have the opportunity to participate in weekend activities which have included rafting, caving, camping, karts and paintball.
