Local micro-brewery Abandoned Brewery is serving up fresh pints with a side of cheeky attitude at their taproom in Porirua.
Covered in graffiti and industrial touches, the taproom is the perfect casual spot for a weekend or after-work drink. All their brews are fresh as can be, and they have a rotating selection of their classics and favourites alongside new creations.
Sit in their spacious outdoor area and grab some kai from the resident food truck, The Karaage Kid. Their Korean and Japanese-influenced fried chicken and burgers are the perfect accompaniment to a pint or two in the sunshine.

109 Discovery Drive, Whitby
You'll feel right at home at this bakery in Whitby. The Regal Shortbread Co. owner and baker Anita Vogt serves freshly baked goods and top-notch coffee from her beautiful and bright space.
Try the addictive shortbread she's most commonly known for. More fantastic options include croissants, pies, pastries, cakes, loaves, scones and tortes.
Anita's shop is just as good for the planet as it is for your tastebuds. All the packaging is home compostable, and there's a cup library if you forget your keep cup.

To experience New Zealand's only Polish restaurant you'll need to take a trip to the seaside suburb of Plimmerton.
Everything on the menu has a suggested vodka match and you can add a side of sauerkraut to your meal for the full Polish dining experience. The menu features a range of traditional Polish dishes which can be adapted for dietary requirements.

Greedy and Co. in Porirua

Coffee, baked goods and pies have made their way via caravan to Pukerua Bay in Porirua.
A coffee caravan, Greedy and Co, was started by a stay at home mum Renee and a sales rep Sarah who saw a chance to give their community what they were missing out on.
They began delivering weekly meals and doing catering then the idea of a caravan was born.
People can look forward to drinking locally roasted coffee by Emporio, eating freshly baked good and handmade pies. You’ll find them tucked behind the main shopping strip.
The Little Goat
The Little Goat, Cobham Court, Porirua
Once a travelling food truck, The Little Goat has settled into a permanent home in Cobham Court, Porirua offering high-quality and delicious food-to-go.
The Little Goat's menu is comprised of fresh and locally sourced ingredients, except for the halloumi which Chrystalla imports. Much of the food on offer is made from scratch including the hummus, tzatziki and sweet treats.
Owner Chrystalla Aresti Achilleos was born in Cyprus and wanted to give Wellingtonians a taste of the village cooking of her childhood home.
