What you’ll do
Reporting to the Content and Editorial Manager, as our Digital Content Writer you will be responsible for developing stories and other content for WellingtonNZ-owned channels (WellingtonNZ.com, EDMs, collateral, digital campaigns) and other platforms that showcase Wellington as a vibrant place to work, do business, study, live, and visit.
Day to day, you will:
- develop highly engaging content for WellingtonNZ.com
- work collaboratively with other business units to source story ideas that support their objectives
- plan, develop and create content that inspires our audiences to attend Major Events in Wellington and promotes Wellington as an events destination
- work with the Digital and Content team, developing, and maintaining WellingtonNZ’s website
- ensure content across the site is SEO friendly, relevant and up to date
- work with various WellingtonNZ teams on marketing projects, supporting relevant talent, business, investor, student, and visitor attraction campaigns with content requirements
- develop and maintain good working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders including WellingtonNZ staff, commercial businesses, central/local government, sponsors, partners and suppliers.
About you
You are well versed in editorial content writing, with technical ability in EDMs, SEO, Hemingway, and other content tools. Additionally, you will have experience managing CMS and working autonomously.
You will be innovative and creative and bring with you:
- proven skills in identifying, researching and writing editorial content
- a background in the digital space, with experience in website content creation
- demonstrated experience in pitching, planning and executing new content ideas
- experience in project and campaign support
- a desire to collaborate within our Division and across the organisation to make things happen
- strong communication skills with experience in internal and external relationship building and maintenance
- an adaptive, and solutions focus, comfortable working towards deadlines and outcomes
- a passion for the Wellington region, its people, events and businesses!
