About the role
Reporting to the Finance Lead, you will manage the end-to-end accounting process including the preparation of the end of month journals and accruals; monthly management accounts and reporting, event revenue reporting and debtor management.
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing the month end process, ensuring event revenue is complete and all accruals are made.
- Ensuring all end-of month deadlines are met.
- Preparing the monthly financial management reports and commentaries
- Analysing P&L's at both consolidated and cost centre levels to ensure completeness of results, understanding Budgets to enable accuracy of results.
- Preparing monthly forecasts throughout the year
- Leading and managing the Accounts Assistant.
- Managing the preparation of the fortnightly payroll for Venues Operations and Hosts.
About you
You are a proven multi-tasker with a strong eye for detail and the ability to proactively manage and prioritise competing demands with minimal supervision. You’ll have the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships within a diverse team from senior level management to casual frontline workers, championing a modern and friendly approach in all environments.
You’ll bring:
- Degree in Accountancy or other related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Confident in reconciliations, payroll, financial and management accounting.
- Experience in a similar role where you are responsible for the end-to-end accounting process, looking for a role that encompasses multiple accounting and reporting tasks and prepared to do it all, to ensure monthly results & forecasting are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Confident in reconciliations, payroll, financial and management accounting.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to break it down; simplify for non-finance business partners to use and understand.
- High level understanding of financial practices and ability to communicate this effectively.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong skills in other MS Office products (Word, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint).
- Advanced experience using modern financial systems – TechOne experience beneficial.
- Experience with CRM systems or Event Business Management systems that drive revenue and cost of sales and understands the interface with the ERP Accounting system. Momentus software experience beneficial.
- Payroll experience and an understanding of employment legislation is beneficial

Remuneration for this role will be based on the skillset and competencies that the successful applicant brings to the role. The appointing salary for this role is likely between $107,630 - $119,589.
