The Malthouse
76 Willis Street, Te Aro, Wellington
An iconic Wellington hospitality destination, The Malthouse has been pivotal to the craft brewing movement in New Zealand. Since opening in 1993 it has established itself as a thriving hub for craft beer. Now in its Willis Street location, it's a hub for after-work drinks or a weekend catch-up in the outdoor seating area, or cosy indoor space.
There's an impressive rotation of 30 beers on tap, and an additional 85 different beers in the fridge - so even your fussiest friend will be catered to. In addition to the outstanding range of beer, Malthouse also boasts one of the best selections of malt whisky and gin in the city.
With their midtown location and its surrounding high-rises, Malthouse's chefs have been inspired to create a New York-style menu to accompany your draught. Check out the bagels, pizza, and tacos on offer to accompany your brew of choice.
Fortune Favours
7 Leeds Street, Te Aro, Wellington
Fortune Favours saved an old industrial building and restored it as a new brewpub, brewing on-site and serving fresh beer and food.
Like a lot of Wellington, they love beer and they want to share that love with you. Fortune Favours beers are fun and innovative so take the leap and try something new. Fresh flavours from the popular inner-city brewery can now be found in Miramar at their new suburban spot.
Whistling Sisters

A temple of beer, food and fun, Whistling Sisters brew and serve their own beers plus a carefully curated selection of craft beer from Wellington’s best breweries.
The Fermentery has a regularly changing selection of creative food on offer to complement their packed programme of live gigs, tastings, meetups and gatherings.
Mean Doses

Despite the name, Mean Doses are actually very kind – they want to provide local beer lovers with a beer range they might not easily find elsewhere.
Mean Doses have ten beers on tap for filling your riggers or takeaway containers, there’s a combination of Mean Doses brews and some invited guest brews. Stop off on the way home at their Tory St Fillery for a mean taste and some nice brews to take home and enjoy.
Double Vision Brewing

Brought to you by the shared dream and shenanigans of its four creators, Double Vision Brewing is “creating the kind of damn fine beer that delivers mouth parties at your place. With their brewery and taproom situated in Miramar, you can get an insight into the brewing process knocking back a “brewski with ya mates.”


Fork & Brewer
20 Bond Street, Te Aro, Wellington
The Fork brewing team are known for creating an array of mouthwatering beers - all paired with beautiful artwork and tap badges - with sours and IPAs receiving a lot of attention.
With their inner-city brewpub boasting 40 taps onsite, you know there will be an option for you and your sidekick. If you also come on a sports night, they have a projector screen ready to go!
