Rachael Caughley believes her love for fashion runs in her blood. Her passion for dressing and styling other people came from working on a shop floor during her degree. “I just love meeting people and making them feel good in what they’re wearing,” says Rachael. This passion is what inspired her to take the plunge and open her own women’s boutique in October 2015.
Caughley offers a range of clothes, shoes, accessories, skincare, and jewellery from a mix of local and international designers such as Ganni, Citizens of Humanity, Wynn Hamlyn, Yu Mei, Emma Lewisham, Jasmin Sparrow, and Daylight Moon. Each item is hand-picked by Rachael based on the fabrics, style, and design. Rather than following any trends, Rachael focuses on finding timeless, high-quality staples that are made to last, aligning with the boutique’s ethos of “buy less, buy better.”

Once Rachael has selected a piece that aligns with her brand ethos, she will generally purchase just one of each size. This is an unconventional approach, but it affords Caughley’s customers the ability to enjoy unique items of clothing that aren’t worn by many others. It's not only a great way to try out a designer’s collection with her customers and ensure there is minimal waste, but it also means that each visit to the store offers her clients a new selection.
Rachael loves to have a constant flow of new stock and rearranges the store layout regularly to keep things exciting for her customers. Caughley has a very loyal customer base with out-of-towners stopping by whenever they are visiting and regular locals who shop primarily at Caughley. Service is a big part of Rachael’s boutique with a lot of people coming in specifically for styling advice, which Rachael and her staff love to give.
While Caughley’s online store also attracts loyal customers, nothing quite beats the experience of walking into their store and being greeted by a wonderful feast for the eyes, and the friendly, passionate staff.
