The Wellington Animation Film Festival (WAFF) is back with an exciting mix of international and local films. From award-winning animation to family-friendly favourites, you’ll find films spanning science fiction, romance, myth, and adventure. On the programme are Cannes and Annecy selections, feature films never before shown in Aotearoa theatres, and standout works celebrating emerging talent with a first-of-its-kind student competition. A UNESCO City of Film initiative presents a selection of films celebrating women’s voices in animation.
Alongside the screenings and in partnership with the VFXGuild, the festival will host Industry Days. There will be panels, talks, and online matchmaking sessions connecting animation professionals from Aotearoa and around the world.
Celebrate the colourful world of animation storytelling.
