Convention Services Programme

Business Events Wellington’s Convention Services Programme provides free support to all conference organisers who are bringing an event to Wellington.

How we can help

  • Boost your delegate attendance by providing promotional and delegate marketing resources. This includes access to promotional video and imagery and a suite of customisable Wellington resources to help promote your event in Wellington.
  • Access planning resources. Ranging from finding accommodation and social function venues, sustainability guides, and digital collateral for delegates such as customised city maps.
  • Activate Wellington city with exclusive Wellington Airport welcome packs, tourism experience and retail discounts, and onsite visitor support.

Bidding for an international event

If you are looking to host a conference from outside New Zealand, you may need help with a bid proposal. We know that bidding for and hosting international meetings can be daunting, which is why we are here to support you every step of the way.

We work closely with Tourism New Zealand’s Conference Assistance Programme to navigate the bidding process and ensure overseas conferences are successfully hosted in Wellington.

That means we can support you throughout the entire process, by:

  • working with you through the bid guidelines to determine exactly what is required
  • engaging a Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) to develop a financial feasibility study
  • requesting letters of support and/or quotes from venues and hotels to include in the bid
  • creating a professional, tailored bid document with help from a graphic designer.
