Super Smart

With everything you need for a great stay in Wellington, three-and-a-half-star rated Mercure Wellington Abel Tasman Hotel perfectly balances quality and affordability in a central Wellington location that’s close to everything.

The rooms have recently been refurbished with inviting contemporary fit-out that’s fresh, bright and vibrant. You’ll have a great night’s sleep on the king or queen-sized beds. There’s a work desk and free WiFi if you want to quickly go over those presentation notes before a meeting or Sky Television if you just want to relax.

The stylish and spacious Prime Suite is perfect for special occasions or longer stays with a king-sized bed, a separate living area and a spa bath – we can’t think of anything better than a long soak in the spa before stretching out in a luxuriously-sized bed.

Watch the world go by

If you don’t fancy leaving the hotel at the end of a long day, in-house restaurant and bar Corner Bistro 169 is a great spot to sit and watch the outside world go by over a glass of wine and a delicious meal. In winter, cosy up in front of the fireplace with a glass of local Martinborough pinot noir and in summer, there’s a sunny outdoor patio for alfresco dining.

If you have a 21st, wedding anniversary or party to plan, Mercure Wellington Abel Tasman Hotel is well-known for their function spaces - bathed in natural light, they’re the perfect canvas for you to plan your party to remember.

On Your Doorstep

You’re going to be overwhelmed by the choice of cafés, restaurants and bars nearby so if you can’t choose, head to Press Hall, an upmarket food court on Willis Street. Take your pick from the range of freshly-made delicious food on offer: from Japanese to pasta, salads to souvlaki, pizza to tacos and afterwards, head to Amador, Press Hall’s on-site bar for a local craft beer or wine.

Practically everything is under a ten-minute walk away from Mercure Wellington Abel Tasman Hotel: Te Papa, the waterfront, cafés on Cuba Street, cocktails and clubs on Courtenay Place and shopping on Lambton Quay.
