Laneway life

West Plaza, a four-star hotel achieves a near-perfect blend of affordability and great location with self-contained rooms that are clean, smart & comfortable – free unlimited WiFi and 24-hour room service.  There’s a variety of room configurations which can be tailored to your group size; choose from queen, twin and triple rooms and for more space, you can upgrade to a Suite, which has a separate lounge and dining area.

Pull back your curtains at West Plaza Hotel and you might be looking down onto one of Wellington’s coolest new laneways. Lombard Lane is a microcosm of Wellington – there’s Lamason Brew Bar serving up excellent coffee, Denzien distillery making award-winning artisan gin, Pickle & Pie serving up New York deli-inspired food and some great boutique shopping.

A taste of the capital

A recent refurbishment has given West Plaza a unique capital flavour, including stunning contemporary chandeliers by Wellington designers Kaynemaile, which also made the chainmail for The Lord of The Rings movie trilogy.  A series of prints by local stencil artist Ally Paine depicting some of Wellington’s landmarks adds an artistic touch to the walls of the lobby and restaurant – City Dining & Bar – where you can enjoy a local Denzien Gin from the distillery on their back doorstep or a tasty classic bistro-style meal.

West Plaza Hotel dining area

This hotel is in a great location, we could walk everywhere, no need for taxis! Close to superb restaurants, bars and eateries or if preferred the room service is also excellent!

On your doorstep

Staying in such a central location means you won’t have much use for your car, so park it in the on-site carpark for just $25 per night – one of the cheapest hotel parking rates in the city. Walking around Wellington really is the best way to get to know the city and to discover street art, cafés and laneway bars that you might have otherwise missed.

It’s an easy stroll to Cuba Street, Lambton Quay and Courtenay Place – and if you’re in town for a show, West Plaza is just across the road from the Michael Fowler Centre and less than a five-minute walk from The Opera House.
