Cat Power: The Greatest on Tour

20 years on from its release, Cat Power’s album, The Greatest, still retains its mesmeric pull. A late-night classic, it still feels as intimate and raw as it did in 2014. Now you get the chance to hear the album in its entirety live at The Opera House in Wellington.   

The concert won’t just showcase this seminal album — it’ll sit alongside favourite songs from Cat’s catalogue over the past three decades. The concert will drift through heartbreak, survival, longing, and grace with the kind of restraint that only makes the emotional weight hit harder. From the slow-burn sway of Living Proof to the bruised beauty of The Greatest, these songs endure because they tell the truth softly.   

The support act for the Wellington concert is Lawrence Arabia. He is known for his sophisticated songwriting and distinctive blend of indie-pop, chamber-pop and psychedelic influences. Lawrence has toured extensively across New Zealand, Europe and North America.
