The rasp in her singing voice is as immediately recognisable as her talent for entertaining. Nobody puts on a show like R&B/soul singer Macy Gray. The Ohio-born artist came to fame in 1999 with her triple-platinum debut album ‘On How Life Is’. Her concert at Wellington’s St James Theatre will deliver a jaw-dropping celebration of chart-topping hits I Try, Still, Do Something, Sexual Revolution, and Sweet Baby. You can also expect her new single I’m Too Sexy from her upcoming album, The Trouble With Truth.
Presented in association with the Wellington Jazz Festival, this is a rare chance to see one of the great R&B and soul artists of a generation. Macy Gray has sold over 25 million albums worldwide and won a GRAMMY Award along with two BRIT Awards. She has collaborated with everyone from Ariana Grande to Maino and Galactic. Her music consistently resonates throughout pop culture, transcending many genres and building a devout and diverse fan base.
… going out on a high and leaving everyone in attendance blown away by her performance.
