Looking to settle in somewhere for a long lunch or relaxed wine tasting? Martinborough delivers with Luna Estate. Set within lush gardens, its Cellar Door and Eclipse Restaurant offer a refined and relaxed experience. You'll find warm, knowledgeable service, exceptional wines and a thoughtful menu. All this is set within landscaped gardens that offer a peaceful and open atmosphere. Pop in for wine tastings, lunch, and dinner.
Eclipse Restaurant is the centrepiece of Luna Estate. The seasonal menu is inspired by modern Asian flavours and designed to be shared. Standout dishes include crispy eggplant, braised beef cheek, Korean fried chicken, and pillowy bao buns. The fit-out is sleek and understated, with large windows that let the beauty of the landscaped gardens flow into the dining space. Sales and Marketing Manager Chrissy Cummings says the restaurant celebrates seasonal produce. "Luna is guided by a deep commitment to sustainability, both in the vineyard and on the plate. It means every ingredient is treated with care creating food that’s full of flavour and intention."
Luna Estate began in 2014 with the purchase of Eclipse Vineyard. Since then, it has grown to include the esteemed Blue Rock Vineyard. Chrissy says this has expanded their wine portfolio with depth and distinction. Their pinot noir is a particular standout, with multiple accolades including the Champion Pinot Noir Trophy at the 2024 New World Wine Awards.
The name 'Luna' means 'moon' in Latin and reflects the estate's ethos. The moon is often associated with cycles, nature, and quiet beauty. These themes resonate with Luna Estate’s wish to create a serene spot to unwind. “It fosters a passionate forward-thinking team and builds a culture of continuous improvement.” enthuses Chrissy.
