Ed Sheeran

Summer is set to be hotter than ever with a concert from Ed Sheeran in the mix. The British singer-songwriter is playing Sky Stadium on 21 January 2026 as part of his Australia and New Zealand stadium shows on the Loop Tour.

Fans of the pop superstar can expect a brand-new show to go with an upcoming brand-new album. Ed's forthcoming eighth studio album ‘Play’ is set to be released on 12 September. The album marks the beginning of a fresh new chapter of music for the artist. Described as an “explorative, technicolour pop album”, ‘Play’ will be full of fun, chaos and heart — and the show is set to match in both energy and production. With plenty of other hits and crowd favourites from his back catalogue, the brand-new live show is set to be an epic event for every kind of Ed Sheeran fan.

The Loop Tour references Ed's signature use of a loop pedal. Layering vocals, guitar, and percussion in real time, Ed's concerts are a masterclass in musicality and performance. Loop pedals have become a signature part of his gigs, having used them on stage since he started performing as a teen.

Ed has fondly referred to the capital as his “favourite city in the world”, and the 2026 performance will be his second show in Wellington in three years. He previously played to a sold out Sky Stadium in February 2023, bringing 48,500 fans from across the country to the Mathematics Tour. This time around he will have a new album, new show, and new stage set up.

The all-new stage production is centred around the joyful, expansive sound of ‘Play’. Expect cutting-edge visuals, intimate acoustic moments, and the full stadium sing-alongs only Ed Sheeran can deliver.
