The Pogues perform on stage.

It’s been 35 years since The Pogues were in New Zealand, and 40 years since the release of their most famous album. Now is your chance to hear them live singing songs from their iconic 1985 album ‘Rum, Sodomy & the Lash’. Not only will you get the full album, but there will also be other much-loved favourites. Hear A Pair of Brown Eyes, Dirty Old Town, A Rainy Night in Soho, and plenty more.

Helping bring this re-creation to life are original members James Fearnley, Jem Finer and Spider Stacy. There is also a special lineup of acclaimed guest vocalists, Daragh Lynch, Iona Zajac, and John Francis Flynn. Together they’ll present a soul-stirring celebration of one of modern music’s most enduring legacies.

The Pogues formed in 1982 and fused punk with traditional Irish music. They originally called themselves Pogue Mahone. This phrase is an anglicisation of the Irish for póg mo thóin, meaning “kiss my arse”.
