The Parthenon.

Marking its Aotearoa debut, the Hellenic Music Ensemble brings the unforgettable soundscape of Greece to life in a landmark global tour. The group will be under the direction of acclaimed composer and conductor Panos Liaropoulos. This 21-piece orchestra honours the genius of Greece’s most iconic composers: Mikis Theodorakis (BAFTA-winning ‘Zorba's Dance’) and Manos Hadjidakis (‘Never on a Sunday’).

The orchestra will be joined by legendary voices Manolis Mitsias, Giannis Haroulis, and Natassa Bofiliou. Together, they’ll bring the quintessential melodies of Greece to the Michael Fowler Centre. This one-night-only show is part of the Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts. Soar through a century of song — celebrating the soul, poetry, and passion of Greece.
