Guns N’ Roses return to Wellington

Guns N' Roses are bringing stadium rock back to Wellingtons’ Sky Stadium on Thursday 8 December 2022

The band reunited in 2016 for a ‘Not in this Lifetime…’ tour, wowing more than 31,000 fans in the very same venue.

The crowd weren’t the only ones blown away. Duff McKagan tweeted after their last show, “Holy HELL Wellington! Where you been all my life? In the rain and wind, you all showed what this town is made of.”

Expect a solid line up of stadium-busting songs, with Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child o’ Mine and Paradise City playing on regular rotation ahead of the show.

Stadium rock is finally back!

To celebrate, brand new tickets have been released at fan-friendly prices so everyone can join the party.

Even during the downtime this year, the band has apparently stayed busy. Slash said in a recent interview that the band has been working on new music in quarantine.

The band’s ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour, which began four years ago, recently became the No. 3 highest-grossing tour in the history of Billboard Boxscore. Launched in April 2016, ‘Not in This Lifetime...’ features classic line-up members Slash, Duff McKagan and singer Axl Rose backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.

Fans can expect GNR’s typical “marathon” gig of up to two-and-three-quarter hours.
