After a sold-out tour in early 2026, Sir Tony Robinson brings his talk show back to Wellington. Catch ‘An Audience with Sir Tony Robinson’ at The Opera House. The television presenter, actor, and award-winning writer has an impressive decades-long career. Tony will divulge behind-the-scenes stories from his life on and off screen. He’ll then read from his fiction debut ‘The House of Wolf’, an epic tale of Alfred the Great and the bloody birth of England. He won’t hog the microphone the whole time — you’ll also get the chance to ask him questions. Expect masterful storytelling from Tony and lots of laughs from the audience.
You might have seen Tony play Baldrick in Rowan Atkinson’s cult 80s sitcom ‘Blackadder’. In the show, his “I have a cunning plan” catchphrase and comedic timing made him a household name. He’s also celebrated for his work in historical broadcasting, which includes presenting 20 seasons of ‘Time Team’. His infectious enthusiasm for history continued, as he wrote his first novel aged 78. The book delves into the (often grim) realities of life for ordinary people caught between Saxon kings and Viking raiders.
