Hutt Valley hosts the quintessential sounds of a Kiwi summer.

A massive lineup of New Zealand music icons plays Brewtown in January. Summer Meltdown sees SIX60, Katchafire, The Black Seeds, Troy Kingi, Ria Hall and Tiki Taane take the stage on Wellington anniversary weekend. It’s set to be an unforgettable one-day music festival for all ages. Brewtown general manager Phil Gorman says, “You could build major shows around any one of these artists, so to have them all together on one bill is something we haven’t seen in Wellington before.” 

After a successful headliner gig at Brewtown in 2025, SIX60 return with their distinctive sound and story. Global roots reggae legends Katchafire know how to draw in a crowd thanks to their classic Māori-strum and chilled-out vibe. There will be an extra thrill watching The Black Seeds do what they do best in their hometown. 

Don’t miss Troy Kingi perform snippets of his ambitious 10/10/10 project — 10 albums, 10 genres, 10 years — backed by a full live band. Ria Hall will celebrate Te Reo Māori through her powerful vocals and modern soulful style. Completing the lineup, Tiki Taane’s set will feature his live-looping magic and electric energy. As Phil puts it, “Summer Meltdown has a lineup that crosses generations and musical styles.”
