Surrounded by native forest and birdlife, the Belmont Trig Track drops down to Korokoro Dam and then climbs uphill via Baked Beans Bend to Belmont Trig.
The trail is mainly for bikers, but walkers are also allowed. At the top, you’ll get a 360-degree view, from the Tararua Ranges all the way round to the South Island’s Kaikōura Ranges.
On your return journey, you’ll pass through farmland and forest, including native tawa, kahikatea and rimu trees.
