Tirohana Estate

The vines at boutique vineyard Tirohana Estate were planted in 1988. Sitting on the outskirts of Martinborough village, it comprises a cellar door, tasting room and elegant restaurant. There is also well-appointed accommodation available. Heritage grape varieties are raised following traditional methods in the vineyard. The winery is staffed by a dedicated team that strives for the common goal of excellence. As well as Martinborough’s famed pinot noir, Tirohana varieties include sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, dessert wine, rosé and more. The colonial cottage on site and picturesque surroundings make the estate perfect not just for meals but for special social functions as well.

Escarpment Winery

275 Te Muna Road, Martinborough, Wairarapa

Escarpment Winery’s vineyards are situated on top of an old river terrace. Deep gravels and alluvial loam make for fertile wine growing. Just a five-minute drive from Martinborough village in the Wairarapa, Escarpment has over three decades of wine-growing experience. 

Sit down and enjoy stunning vineyard views while sampling a pinot noir, chardonnay, pinot blanc, or pinot gris. The expert team will guide you through the tasting notes. There are multiple tastings across the week. Set aside 45 to 50 minutes for the full experience, and don’t forget to book ahead.
