Hansel & Gretel

Follow the breadcrumbs this Christmas, and venture into the fantastical realm of ‘Hansel & Gretel’. Inspired by the old-fashioned magic of silent movies, this ballet will transport you to a magical world with large-scale cinematic effects. With choreography by Loughlan Prior and a score by Claire Cowan, expect a wonderful ballet experience for all ages.

To mark its Platinum 70th birthday, the Royal New Zealand Ballet presents Platinum, a celebratory evening of favourite excerpts. For one night only at the St James Theatre, the full company will perform highlights from Flower Festival at Genzano, Swan Lake, Giselle, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Romeo & Juliet, Don Quixote and La Sylphide, plus RNZB favourites FrENZy, Stand To Reason and a new work by Choreographer in Residence Shaun James Kelly.

This is a one-off performance and is not part of the RNZB’s 2023 subscription season.
