Picnic under the blooms at Blossom Valley
Get your spring selfie surrounded by blossoms at Aston Norwood's Blossom Valley, an unmissable celebration of spring
Celebrate the end of winter and welcome in spring with the breathtaking blossoms at Aston Norwood Gardens in Upper Hutt.
This family-friendly event is the next best thing to visiting Japan during the annual Hanami (flower watching) celebrations. Visit during the day or head along for a magical nighttime viewing – either way, you're in for a visual feast.
Get your spring selfie
Located in a beautiful rural setting in Upper Hutt's Kaitoke, Aston Norwood Gardens has hundreds of flowering cherry blossom trees that are 25 years old. Each spring, these trees erupt into blossom, filling the valley with pink and white flowers – the perfect background for your spring selfie.
Only in Wellington
New Zealand's highest number of mature Cherry Blossom trees in one place is found at Aston Norwood. Making this the biggest bloom you can experience in the country. The event is carefully scheduled around the natural blossoming of the trees with data from previous years informing the date selection. This means that there may be some slight movement in the event start/end dates. Keep an eye on the Blossom Valley Facebook page for more info.
