• Shed 6 is open 60 minutes before a performance but can be event dependent.
• Contact us for access outside of these hours.

Accessibility

Wheelchair access

• Shed 6 has wheelchair access to the ground floor.
• Accessible seat locations differ for each event because the arena is a flexi-venue.
• For event-specific seats, you can visit the event page on the Ticketmaster website or contact Venues Wellington.
• Wheelchairs are available at the venue but require you to give advanced notice so they can ensure they are on-site during the event.
• There are ramps available inside the venue.

Visually impaired

• Guide dogs are welcome at Shed 6.
• Somes shows may offer audio-described performances and touch tours.
• If you need additional assistance at the venue, you can ask their friendly staff, who are trained to help.

Hearing impaired

The venue does not have an audio loop or sign language-interpreted performances.

Ticketmaster is the official ticketing agent for all events at Venues Wellington venues.

To make sure you don’t miss out on attending an event, please only buy tickets from Ticketmaster. Unauthorised resellers on Viagogo and TradeMe often sell fake tickets. Our venues are not obligated to let you in if you have purchased a ticket from an unauthorised reseller.

About Shed 6

Shed 6 sits on Queens Wharf, a totara wharf built in the 1860s then known as ‘deep water wharf’. It is one of several cargo sheds that have been built in this area over the years. Among them are Shed 5 (built in 1886), Shed 3 Dockside (built in 1887), and Shed 1 (1964). A building has been on the Shed 6 site since the mid-1880s though the current shed was replaced in 1959.

Renamed Shed 6 in the 1920s, it has been used as a warehouse, and later as a sail loft during round-the-world yacht races. Renovated in 2013 to act as a temporary performance space while the Town Hall underwent renovations Shed 6 has become a well-used venue for concerts, exhibitions, events, and meetings.

The foyer area houses a display of original artefacts and remnants from the three-masted barque Inconstant. The ship was grounded at the entrance to Wellington Harbour in 1849 and then towed onto the foreshore where local entrepreneur John Plimmer bought and converted the hull into a warehouse. The remains were rediscovered during the renovations of reclaimed land around an old bank in 1997 and now rest at Shed 6.

Hire Shed 6

Shed 6 gives you control over a large space: host a concert in the entire auditorium, or split it up with soundproof dividers into four smaller spaces perfectly suited to conference breakout sessions, meetings, product launches and social functions.

Connected to the TSB Arena by a light and open two-storey arcade, Shed 6 is a truly multi-purpose venue. Set up theatre-style or classroom seating to complement your conference in the Arena next door, or make use of the whole space for a banquet dinner.

Rooms and spaces

Room 1

Room 1 offers 255m² of flat floor, and is equipped with a tiered retractable seating system that can accommodate up to 395 theatre-style. Movable soundproof walls divide this space from the neighbouring room. This space can be readily configured with adjoining rooms as a conference, meeting or exhibition space.

Room 2

This flat-floor space is separated from Rooms 1 and 3 with operable soundproof walls and can be used alongside these rooms as a conference breakout space.

At 145m², Room 2 accommodates up to 144 guests seated theatre-style. This flat-floor space is separated from Rooms 1 and 3 with operable soundproof walls and can be used alongside these rooms as a conference breakout space.

Room 3

A 137m² flat floor room with operable soundproof walls that can accommodate up to 135 theatre style for conferences. You can also use Room 3 in conjunction with the adjoining rooms to create a larger space for a conference or exhibition.

Room 4

Room 4 accommodates up to 205 guests seated theatre-style. Use this flat-floor pillarless space alongside the other rooms in the Auditorium for breakout sessions or meetings alongside a larger event.

The Arcade

The light-filled arcade area can be utilised by conference organisers for breaks, catering and registration providing an easy space for delegates to network, socialise and get some fresh natural light during breaks. The venue is completely self-contained offering your conference delegate an immersive experience with opportunity for trade displays and branding for sponsors.
