New Zealand Cricket: Summer Season

Frank Kitts Park
This spring, Wellington will celebrate 100 years of sporting connection between India and New Zealand. The city will showcase its strong Indian community and cultural connections. This century milestone traces back to 1926, when an Indian Army hockey team toured New Zealand for the first time, bringing players and communities together. Since then, sport has played an important role in connecting our countries — notably through hockey and cricket, but also across many other sports and exchanges.
From 23 October to 15 November, Frank Kitts Park and the waterfront promenade will host a free public exhibition. Light Box Historic Walk will feature 10 illuminated light boxes that share stories of Wellington-specific links between India and New Zealand. You’ll also find The Fan Hub on 6 and 7 November as well as 14 and 15 November. Enjoy a feast with local food truck favourites, offering a taste of Wellington's rich culinary scene. Or start the day with sunrise yoga sessions hosted by AWHI Yoga against the stunning waterfront backdrop. To cap off all the excitement, the BLACKCAPS take on India three times in Wellington as part of their summer season.
The Sport100 Fan Hub is proudly delivered through collaboration between WellingtonNZ, Sport New Zealand, Wellington City Council, Cricket Wellington, and New Zealand Cricket, creating a festive gathering place for locals and visitors to connect, celebrate, and enjoy the atmosphere whilst Wellington hosts cricketing giants India in the capital.
