Che Fu & The Kratez

Che Fu is on a national tour celebrating 25 years since breakthrough album, 'Navigator'. He'll bring his blend of soul, reggae, hip hop, rock, and Pacific influences to the Michael Fowler Centre. He'll be joined on stage by longstanding band The Kratez as well as soul artist Aaradhna, vocalist Betty-Anne, and hip hop artist King Kapisi.

Che Fu appeared on the NZ music scene with funk rockers Supergroove while still in high school. After around five years, he went solo and released hit song 'Chains' in 1996. You might recognise his other chart-topping songs ‘Fade Away’ and ‘Misty Frequencies’ on the 'Navigator' album.

The Niuean/Māori musician became a pioneer of hip-hop and Pasifika music. He was recently inducted into the NZ Music Hall of Fame. He's earned a Pacific Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award. He's also a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
